COULD THE 2019 CLASS BECOME THE GREATEST OFFENSIVE SIGNING CLASS OF ALL TIME?
The 2019 class looked to be in despair just a few short weeks ago with the decommitment of several top caliber players including Theo Wease and Arjei Henderson.
Well, you know what Coach Corso always says? "Not so fast."
The Oklahoma Sooners got a huge BOOM on Friday with the addition of 2019 TE Austin Stogner. Currently, Stogner is listed as consensus 4 star prospect by 247 sports with a .9711 overall rating. He very likely could be a 5 star recruit before the end of his junior season, and should be by the time the 2019 class signs.
While the Sooners added this stud TE on Friday, they are still looking to add 5 star in state prospect Grayson Boomer. It is very likely that the Sooners will be able to pick up Grayson as well.
When was the last time a school signed two 5 star TE's in one class?
The Sooners are still looking good for decommits Wease and Henderson, as well as 2019 QB prospect Spencer Rattler who was just on campus for a visit.* The Sooners are also targeting top 2019 RB Noah Cain, who appears to be very close to Wease.
Has a team ever signed six skill players on offense who were all 5 star recruits? I certainly can't think of any, at least not in modern times.
We haven't even gotten to the most important part of the offense yet, the OL. We all know that this is the position that the Sooners have recruited the best the last few seasons. They have consistently added 4 star recruits on the OL the past several seasons and look to add a 5 star in 2018 with current in state commit Brey Walker.
Nothing tells me that the Sooners are slowing down on the OL position either.
If Lincoln Riley is able to pull all of these guys in. It could quite possibly be the greatest offensive signing class of all time.
*Spencer Rattler committed to the Sooners on 6/27/17.
